WordPress

WordPress is a (blog) publishing system which is written in PHP. It uses MySQL to store all your posts and settings. It first appeared in 2003, issued by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little.

Five years later, WordPress has become one of the most popular CMS systems in the Internet, not only for blog writers, but also Webdesigners who appreciate easiness of the system, support by a large community, GPL as an open-source-license as well as continuous releases and improvements of WordPress itself.

Or, in the words of WordPress:

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

I’m working with WordPress since 2007. It helped me set up my platforms for getting out what I want to say. It also brought me to making my living out of writing. As WordPress is Open Source, I’d like to give something back to the developers and the whole community. I offer Free WordPress Themes and hope they’ll make it into the Official Directory. I’m looking forward to your comments!
